So I decided to take a trip to Canada to see a good friend and fellow photographer Alicia Price two weeks ago. I’m so glad I did!! I had an amazing time and got to see a beautiful part of Canada….and the Rockies!!! It was so much fun! The flight wasn’t bad and I managed to get there with only a 2 hour delay! I’ve decided I’m a “bad luck” flyer, I never get ANYWHERE on time! I guess that isn’t just flying though!

We took a day trip out to Dorothy Canada which is a very cool little ghost town. Check the link to read about it!!! There the amazing Alicia Price and another photog friend Wei spent the afternoon capturing maternity shots of…me! I’m so thankful to both of them for their stunning work!! I will treasure them forever!

On the way to Dorothy though, we stopped and had a break for pics at the Hoodoos See those pics below! So neat!!!!

After dinner with a group of Canada photographers…we hit the road the next morning for a trip to Banff Canada. I would love to have spent more time there!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Wow….

and here are two of me in Banff. I LOVE these!! Alicia had to snap fast because I couldn’t stop laughing (and shaking from the cold) at her laying on her side in about 15 inches of snow. When you stepped, you just sank to your knees…she was laying down!!! I kept waiting for her to disappear and just see a hand and camera sticking up from the snow!!

and for those that don’t know yet, I’m having another little girl!!!! So here is my new fav quote, fitting for today and everyday

“Some women are dripping with diamonds, some women are dripping with pearls, look at me, lucky me, I’m dripping with little girls.”

It’s soooo easy to forget how close I am to the amazing downtown DC.  I take it for granted!!  The buildings…new and old.  The sounds of horns and buses and conversations on the street…starbucks on every corner!!  What’s not to love!!  Really though, I should visit the city more often.  I tend to forget so fast how much I enjoy it.  I think my most favorite thing about DC or any big city for that matter is being able to just walk…anywhere and everywhere.  It’s one of the few times that we as people take a moment to stop and notice other people and the things that surround us.  We lead such busy lives, doesn’t matter if your a person that stays home or heads to an office everyday…we forget to just stop for a minute to enjoy and notice the beauty in the things and people around us.  
Of course I had camera in hand…just a few from the street. 
QOTD: Often we can achieve an even better result when we stumble yet are willing to start over, when we don’t give up after a mistake, when something doesn’t come easily but we throw ourselves into trying, when we’re not afraid to appear less than perfectly polished.
